Ralph Colegrove LetterRalph Colegrove Letter

4-24-1970

Mr. Bill Hargiss
Emporia, Kansas

Dear Coach:

Naturally my thoughts ran back many times to the good old days, the good times, as well as the good games we had together at Good Old KSTC.  I never made the Pro Team but I did learn a few pointers about College football, and certainly I give you all the credit.

I well remember how carefully, yet forcefully, you told me what would happen to me if I ever let an opponent go on the outside around my end.

I also remember when we played at Wichita you called names of the players and I said, "Coach you remember that big boil on my hand?"  You stopped me and said "Get in there and play football -- It will never hurt after it bursts."

I could never close this letter without saying that I had a big advantage of my teammates, in that I know so well your wonderful Christian father and mother.

I hope I may have a brief of this gala event so that, especially, I can learn of your whereabouts, and when you are sunning yourself.

Sincerely,

Ralph N. Colegrove
