To Bill Hargiss

Teachers, along with doers, are the persons most needed in the world.

Measured in distance, the teachers, as human beings, who stil give warmth in thought, include Bill Hargiss (what Bill did, I hope so, was help civilize me).

Each of them had some of the beauty of earnest innocence. And you could see then that some of it still would be there when time came to go out. They run long.

What they gave was openness, the will for valuing and trying excellence, win and lose. None were close friends. But their warmth makes them so now.

Bill, for me, is a maestro of humanity.

Bill

I didn't come say hello the last time I saw you, thinking you wouldn't remember me. Should have anyway, so here's a double Hi Bill.
