Dear Bill:
One of the good things that happened to me while
a student at Kansas University was meeting you in the fall of 1930, and during
the following 4 years having your guidance and inspiration in Track. You
emphasized the importance of determination and a positive attitude toward our
efforts in sports. I have found in the many years since then that these same
things are a must in business, and in all activities of my
life.
While I did not succeed in the mile and two-mile runs
like Cunningham or
McComb, I enjoyed every
minute of the track opportunities I had under your direction. It is a great
privilege for young men to have an opportunity to come under the leadership of
men like yourself.
Congratulations and best wishes to you
at your big celebration. Wish I could be there to say
"Hello" personally
and thank you for all that your efforts have meant for me.
Sincerely
Eugene F. Niswenger
