Earl Bevan Letter
March
28, 1970
Dear Bill:
I have been informed of the plan to hold a banquet in your honor
at the K.S.T.C. Student Union on Thursday, May 28, 1970. I sincerely regret that
my school duties at Pittsburg prevent me from being present for this occasion, and
I know I am missing the opportunity to see you again and to see many of the fellows
with whom you worked for so many years.
Your contribution to the lives of many people has been a great
one and your record as coach at the College of Emporia, the Kansas State Teachers
College of Emporia and the Kansas University is a superb one. I shall always remember,
with respect, the contribution you made to a young country lad in the late twenties;
and I only wish that I could repay you for the effort you expended in my behalf.
I hope you have a great night on May 28, 1970, and one that you
will long remember. May I wish for you and yours many more years of happiness and
good health.
Sincerely yours,
Earl R. Bevan
