K. U. Track Coach to Attend Coaching School in
Topeka
Topeka, Aug. 11. (AP)—Leo R. "Dutch" Meyer, head
football coach at Texas Christian University and developer of the undefeated Horned
Frogs last year, will headline the staff for the annual Kansas coaching school here
August 21-26.
He will be assisted by Mike Brumbelow, line coach
at Texas Christian; Jim Yeager, head football coach at Iowa State and formerly of
Hays State college; and Stanley Williamson, line coach
at Kansas State.
Forrest B. "Frosty" Cox, former Kansas University star basketball
player and now coach at the University of Colorado, will head the basketball course.
Kansas University's own H. W. "Bill"
Hargiss will handle the track and field work. Roland Logan will be brought here
from the United States Military Academy,
West Point, as instructor in proper training methods and the
care of treatment of injuries.
William "Hack" Wilson, manager of Topeka's Western Association
baseball team, will give baseball instruction; and Everett "Gus" Fish of Emporia
State college. will head a course in six-man football .
E. A. Thomas is director
of the coaching school, sponsored by the Kansas State High School Activities association.
He will be assisted by Elmer Holm, director of athletics at Washburn college year's
enrollment of 225 was the largest in the history of the school, and Thomas says
early enrollments and inquiries indicate "as large or larger" enrollment this year.
